Miramar, a city in South Florida with a population of approximately 140,000 is part of the Metropolitan Miami area. With the Florida Turnpike expansion and Interstate 75 opening in the western region of Miramar, the city’s population grew in vast numbers from the 1980’s to today. There were approximately 40,000 residents in 1990, one third the number of residents now in Miramar.

Miramar is also the home of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Miami field office and the General Services Administration office. Previously located in North Miami, the FBI moved the office to Miramar in late 2014.
